Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Another AMAZING book by Jennifer L Armentrout. Seriously, we've had demons, gods, aliens, gargoyles and now we have FAE! I found this little treasure under my Christmas tree on Christmas morning and couldn't wait to crack it open. As usual, I was completely sucked in for the first chapter and couldn't put it down!

So, in this book the story is set in New Orleans and we are introduced to Ivy Morgan, a bad-ass yet somewhat vulnerable heroine. She belongs to a secret organisation called 'The Order' that protect humanity from the fae. She mostly spends her days in college and killing fae.

I really liked Ivy's character. She was strong even after going through some horrible stuff. She was also funny and her relationship with Tink was brilliant . I love that little brownie!

“Grabbing a scarf off the chair, I threw it at him.
He caught it, clutching it to his chest as he flew into the air. "You gave Tink a scarf. Tink is free!" He flew out into the hallway like a little cracked-out fairy, screeching, "Tink is freeeeee!"

And then we meet Ren Owens. Oh Ren, where do I start? He was a great character and really balanced out Ivy's more reckless approach to situations. He was an intense force to be reckoned with. It also doesn't hurt that he is one big piece of man candy!

“I didn't need your permission," I spat back. Ren smirked. "Honey, I know what you need and you're going to get it.”

I really liked the plot. It was interesting and things flowed well through out. There was mystery and suspense and it kept you guessing. The banter between characters was definitely a highlight for me. It added a more light-hearted tone in an otherwise serious situation. Especially, Ivy's inner dialogue!

“Why couldn't he say I reminded him of Ariel or something? Then again, Ariel was kind of stupid, giving up her voice for a dude.”

All in all Jennifer has written another masterpiece that has me not so patiently waiting for the sequel! I can't wait until Torn comes out!
